It’s the first official week of spring, and the newest makeup trends are finally in. The latest all-natural phase that we’ve been going through has come to a crashing and definite halt. Fashion pros have been showing off their new looks on the runways all over the world and we’re ready to change our style with the season.
Some looks are well known and adored, like bright red lips. Others, like faux freckles, are ones I’d rather leave to the models.
High fashion aside, here are the best looks set to bloom this spring.
Bright, bold lips are sticking around. So stock up on lipstick and gloss, and go easy on the eyes. Colors like red, candy apple, and fuchsia are taking over. Girls are letting their lips talk for themselves.
Lip Tip: When putting on lipstick, use Chap Stick first, then lipstick, and then lip gloss to blend it all together.
This spring’s eyes are bright and flirty. Give your eyes wings with white shadow at the tips of the eyelids, or brighten them up with blue shadow lining the lashes.
Glitter is back. I repeat: GLITTER IS BACK Add a sparkly layer over some cream eye shadow to make your eyes sparkle all day.
Embrace a tropical look and unleash the color. Blend your brightest eye shadow: blue and green for brown eyes, orange and gold for blue eyes, and purple and silver for green eyes.
Eye Shadow Tip: White eye shadow at the tips of the eyes and under the brows creates a shimmery look. You can also use thinner brushes to apply eye shadow close to lashes and skip the hazards of eyeliner.
Lips aren’t the only things popping this spring. So pile on the mascara for big lashes. Natural skin against bright lips and big eyes are the new look.
Lashes Tip: Mascara can be tricky, but fun if you know what you’re doing. Give you’re the edges of your upper lashes an extra layer for a more dramatic look, and don’t forget to go easy on the lower lashes.
Keep your foundation light and dewy to give you that angelic, glowy look.
Foundation Tip: If your skin gets paler or tanner and your foundation doesn’t quite match anymore, it is always better to go lighter than darker. Lighter foundation can blend into the skin, but darker just makes you look orange.
The new trends are bright, fun, and bold. Go crazy with the glitter and enjoy a colorful spring. I don’t know about you, but I’ll be shaking off the winter with my trusty fuchsia lipstick.
